Our
run of good luck in finding the perfect coach for each horse continued when we
were fortunate enough to be able to send Oxanna to Tim Grosse for training.
Tim
and his wife Cathy own and operate Rivendale Farm in Kendal, Ontario.
They have a beautiful 40 acre farm set up for lessons, training and
breeding. Tim is an extremely
talented rider who has qualified as an OEF Certified Level 2 coach.
Tim
has been riding all of his life and spent most of his youth outside the warm up
ring at every show he could find, absorbing tips from riders such as George
Morris and Ian Miller. He earned
himself a spot on the Young Riders Jumping Team in 1983.
After
a short hiatus during which Tim thought he would give up horses and play golf,
he returned to the horse world and began riding stallions at the European
Stallion Warmblood Zentrum in London Ontario.
Tim has successfully competed from the low to open jumpers on the ‘A’
Circuit. Additionally, he has had
considerable success in training green horses to the highest levels in the
hunter jumper divisions.
Under
Tim’s tutelage, Zanna, with her raw natural talent is being made into a
skilled expert hunter horse. She is
being given the confidence and the training she needs to take her future owner
to the top. Tim’s style suits
Zanna to a T. He is a confident,
quiet rider who allows the horse to find its own way within the scope of the
training. His approach clearly
works as we have seen tremendous development in her and a continuous string of
successful showings.
Tim
and Cathy have two children, Devin and Sara, an ever changing number of barn cats
and 2 Australian Shepherds, Lilo and Keeda. We are proud to count Tim, Cathy and the whole family as
friends.
