Genny
is an eleven year old Oldenburg mare born at Huntington Farm located in the
picturesque state of Vermont. Ann Kitchel was her owner. Ann owned both
parents of Genny until their passing. I have recently visited the farm and
it is beautiful. Genny was indeed fortunate to have been born to an owner such
as Ann.
Genny is a beautiful light bay mare with
a gorgeous eye. She was backed as
a youngster but not ridden for many years.
She is back in work now and is being prepared for sale as a hunter
prospect.
Her pedigree features such well known
relatives as:
Wohlan - Sire of Worms, who was
the sire of Argentan. Argentan was one of the most important founding sires of
the modern Hanoverian.
Pik As - Pik As was a horse who
was a very influential sport horse sire. His descendents include: Mr. T: World
Champion jumper, Aramis: World Cup winner, Pik König: producer of
show jumpers and dressage horses, Pik Bube: with Herbert Rehbein, won 11 out
of 12 competitions in his first season alone, and Pik Bube II.
Komet - Champion and top prize
winning black stallion of particular beauty who stood as Chief Stallion at
Schmoel, then went on to stand at the state-run establishment at Achselschwang
in Bavaria where he contributed to the Bavarian horse breeding industry
numerous premium mares and licensed stallions. A self-confident, lively and
highly noble stallion, the impressive Komet possessed great body harmony and
clear breed type. Komet was a great mover, demonstrating engergetic,
rhythmical paces. With his valuable genes, Komet proved to be an important
producer of excellent quality riding and competition horses. He has had a
large impact on Trakehner breeding through his notable sons Gunnar,
Herbstglanz, Hessenstein and Herbststurm.
As happens, Ann found herself in a
position where she had to reduce her herd to continue her breeding programme.
This is how Genny found her way to Canada. Ann believed that she had found a
good home for her. Circumstances found Genny at an auction. The wording of the
advertisement and the timing found us in a position to see Genny and her
filly. We brought them home with us.

Genny as Ann did.
